A priest, while at a bride's new home, awakened quite early by the soft tones of a soprano voice singing "Nearer, My God, to thee."


He was moved by the piety which his young hostess must possess to enable her to begin her day's work in such a beautiful frame of mind.


At breakfast he spoke to her about it and told her how pleased he was.


"Oh," she replied, "that's the hym I boil the eggs by： three verses for soft and five for hard,"



새 살림을 차린 한 새댁 집에서 하룻밤을 유하게 된 목사는 아주 이른 아침 '내 주를 가까이'를 부르는 부드러운 소프라노 소리에 잠을 깼다.


목사는 그렇게 아름다운 마음씨로 하루를 시작할 수 있는 젊은 안주인의 신앙심에 감동했다.


아침 식사때 이 사실에 언급한 목사는 참 기분이 좋았다고 했다.


"그건요 계란을 삶아낼 때 부르는 거랍니다.


반숙으로 할 때엔 3절까지, 완숙으로 할 때엔 5절까지 부르거든요."
