Attempting to tee off， a golfer misses the ball altogether. Red-faced， he looks up at his caddie and mumbles， "Oops." He carefully takes another swing， but hits the ground ten inches ahead of the ball， bending his best club. The duffer takes out another club， rechecks his stance and hits the ball straight into a tree. The ball bounces right back and wallops him in the forehead. "That's it!" he shouts. "I quit!" "You're gonna quit golf?" the caddie asks."No." replies the golfer. "The preachership!"



골퍼가 티오프를 시도했으나 공에 가 닿지도 않는 헛스윙으로 끝났다. 그는 얼굴을 붉히면서 캐디를 보고 '아이쿠'라고 했다. 조심스럽게 다시 스윙을 했으나 이번엔 공의 10인치 앞쪽 땅을 내리치는 바람에 제일 좋은 클럽이 휘어버렸다. 다른 클럽을 꺼낸 이 멍청한 골퍼는 자세를 조정하여 다시 쳤는데 그 공은 나무에 맞더니 튀어와 그의 이마를 명중했다. "이제 끝났어! 그만둘 거야!"라고 그는 소리쳤다. "골프를 그만두실 건가요?" 캐디가 물었다. "아니야. 목사 노릇을 그만둘 거라네."
