When I was younger I hated going to weddings. It seemed that all of my aunts and the grandmotherly relatives used to come up to me， poking me in the ribs and cackling， telling me， "You're next."

They stopped that after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals！


좀 젊었을 적에 나는 결혼식에 가는 게 딱 질색이었다.

숙모나 할머니뻘 되는 분들이 하나같이 내게 다가와서는 옆구리를 쿡쿡 찌르고 킬킬거렸는데 "다음은 네 차례로구나"라고 하는 것이었다.

그분들이 더 이상 그렇게 하지 않게 된 것은 내가 장례식장에 가서 같은 소리를 그들에게 하고 나서부터였다.
