A wealthy woman asked Fritz Kreisler what his fee would be to play at a private affair she was giving.

"$1,000," said Kreisler.

"It''s rather high," said the woman, "but I suppose we''ll have to pay it. But of course you will be there as an entertainer and you will be expected to refrain from mingling with the guests."

"Well," said Kreisler, "in that case the fee would be only $500."

"1천달러요"

"비싸군요. 하지만 드려야죠. 그런데 댁은 물론 연예인으로 오시는 것이니 손님들 하고는 어울리지 마셔야 합니다"

"그래요. 그렇다면 5백달러면 됩니다"라고 그는 말했다.
