[해외유머] '연설준비'

A noted public speaker had given lectures in many countries.

After one of his fascinating speeches, a prominent man made his way
backstage to meet the great speaker.

"Please, tell me sir," asked the man, "what is the last thing you do
before you go out to deliver your powerful lectures?

Do you read a favorite passage from Shakespeare or recall an inspiring
bit of Shelley''s poetry?"

"None of those," answered the speaker.

"I just feel to see if my pants are zipped!"

저명한 연사가 여러나라에서 강연을 해왔다.

한번은 마음을 사로잡는 연설을 끝내자 이름있는 인사가 이 명연사를 만나
보려고 무대 뒤로 찾아왔다.

"그 호소력있는 강연을 하기위해 연단에 나서기 전에 마지막으로 하는 것이
무엇인지를 이야기해줄수 없을까요?

셰익스피어 작품의 마음에 드는 대목들을 보는가요, 아니면 셸리의 시에서
감동적인 것들을 머리에 떠올리는가요?"

그는 물었다.

"아닙니다.

그런일 없습니다." 연사는 대답했다.

"바지의 지퍼가 잠겨 있는지를 확인하기 위해 거기를 만져본답니다."
