A minister and a lawyer were chatting at a party.

"What do you do if you make a mistake on a case?" the minister asked.

"Try to fix it if it's big:ignore it if it's insignificant," replied the lawyer.

"What do you do?" The minister replied,"More or less the same. Let me give you an example.

The other day I meant to say 'the devil is the father of liars,'but instead I said 'the devil is the father of lawyers,' so I let it go."


목사와 변호사가 파티에서 이야기를 나누었다．

"사건을 다루다가 실언을 하는 경우 어떻게 합니까?"하고 목사가 물었다．

"중대한 실언이면 바로잡도록 하고 대수롭지 않은 실언이면 그대로 넘겨버립니다"라고 대답한 변호사는 "목사님은 어떻게 하시는데요?"하고 물었다．

"나도 대충 그렇게 한답니다．한 가지 예를 들어봅시다．일전에 '마귀는 거짓말쟁이들의 아버지'라고 말한다는 것이 그만 '마귀는 변호사들의 아버지'라고 했답니다．그리고는 그대로 넘겨버렸지 뭡니까."
