[해외유머] '건망증'

One day a man who had a very bad memory wanted to have a dinner
party at his home.

He told his servant to make ready for the party, and wrote
invitations for a large number of his friends.

The appointed evening came and everything was ready.

But no guest appeared.

He waited and waited.

Then suddenly an idea struck him.

Going up to his study, he opened one of the drawers of his desk.

There he found a bundle of invitations which he had forgotten to
send.

건망증이 심한 사람이 어느날 집에서 만찬모임을 갖기로 하고 하인에게
준비시켰다. 그리고는 여러 친지들에게 보낼 초대장을 작성했다.

약속한 날이 되자 만반의 준비를 했다.

그러나 손님은 단 한사람도 나타나지 않았다.

마냥 기다리고 기다렸다.

그러다가 불현듯 어떤 생각이 떠올랐다.

서재로 올라가서는 책상서랍 하나를 열었다. 거기에는 그가 발송하는
것을 잊고 있었던 초대장 뭉치가 있었다.
