Three boys were looking for a summer job. Their preacher needed some people to go around and sell bibles. So the preacher hired two boys， but he was hesitant about hiring the third boy because he suffered a from a speech impediment. So after the first days of work they all met back at the church. The preacher asked the first boy， "How many bibles did you sell？" The boy said， "35." "Is that all you sold？" He looked at the second boy and asked. "And how many bibles did you sell？" "75，" the boy said. "That is good，" the preacher replied. He didn't want to ask the third boy but did. The boy with the speech impediment said， "I－I－I s－s－sold 175." The preacher was amazed and asked the boy how did he do it. He said， "I－I－I told them to b－b－buy t－t－them or I will r－r－read it to t－t－them."


어린 소년들이 여름철 일거리를 찾고 있었다. 그런데 그들의 목사는 성경을 들고 나가 판매할 일손을 구하고 있었다. 우선 둘은 쓰기로 했지만 셋째 아이는 말을 더듬기 때문에 마음이 내키지 않았다. 아이들 모두가 첫날 일을 마치고는 교회로 돌아와서 회동했다. 목사는 첫 아이에게 "성경 몇 권을 팔았지？"하고 물었다. "35권"이란다. "고작 그걸 팔았단 말이지." 목사는 두 번째 소년을 보고 물었다. "그럼 넌 몇 권을 팔았지？" "75권요. " "질 했군." 다음으로 세 번째 녀석에겐 묻고 싶지도 않았지만 그럴 수가 없어서 물었다. 언어장애가 있는 그 소년이 대답했다. "나－나－난 175권을 파－파－팔았습니다. " 목사는 깜짝 놀라면서 어떻게 그렇게나 많이 판 거냐고 물었다. "나－나－난 사람들을 보고 사－사－사지 않으면 이－이－읽어 주겠다고 해－해－했습니다. "
