For a moment the boy thought about that，then said，"Well，listening to his kind of talk isn't easy，is it？"


장황하게 이어지는 따분한 설교를 들어야 하는 고역을 초조하게 치르고 난 여섯 살 난 녀석이 아버지에게 물었다-- 목사는 주일 아닌 다른 날엔 뭘 하냐고….

"목사님은 있잖아 대단히 바쁜 분이야"라고 아버지가 대답했다. "교회의 일들을 돌봐야 하고，병든 사람들을 심방해야 하며, 가난한 사람들을 위해 봉사해야 하고….그리고 당연한 이야기지만 푹 쉬면서 피로를 풀 시간도 있어야 하지 않겠니.사람들을 모아놓고 이야기한다는 게 쉬운 일이 아니란 말이다. "

녀석은 아버지가 하는 이야기를 잠시 생각하고는 묻는 것이었다. "그런데 목사님이 하는 것과 같은 그런 이야기를 듣고 앉아있는 것도 쉬운 일은 아니잖아？"
