[비즈니스 유머] 젊은 목사와 노파

A young preacher came to one of the distant settlements and started in to reform the natives.

Among other things to which he objected was smoking by women.

He stopped one day at old Nancy's cabinet and found her enjoying an after-dinner smoke on her pipe

"When your time comes to go and you apply for admission at the gaet of heaven, do you expect that St. Peter will let you in if he detects the odor of tobacco on your breath?"

The old woman took the pipe out of her mouth and said: "Young man, when I go to heaven I expect to leave my breath behind."

벽지 마을로 들어간 젊은 목사는 그곳 주민들을 상대로 선교활동을 시작했다.

그가 무엇보다도 못마땅하게 생각한 것은 여자들의 흡연이었다.

어느날 낸시 할멈의 오두막 앞에서 발걸음을 멈춘 목사는 식후의 담배를 즐기고 있는 할멈과 마주쳤다.

"때가 와서 이승을 떠나 천당문에서 들여보내달라고 할때 숨쉬면서 담배냄새를 풍겨 가지고서야 어디 베드로께서 통과시켜 주실까요?"

목사가 이렇게 말하자 할멈은 물고 있던 파이프를 치우고 응수했다.

"이봐요, 젊은이, 천당에 갈 때엔 여기서 숨을 거두고 가는 게야."
