[해외유머] '할리우드 스타일'

After many years, the movie actor was back visiting in the rural town
where he had lived as a boy.

His friends were anxious to learn if all the wild stories they had
heard about life in Hollywood were really true.

"Nonsense," said the actor, "Hollywood is no different than any other
American city. Life out there is normal. Take my own case. I''m up early
every morning, at the studio by eight-fifteen. I work a full, hard day,
and I''m home by six. Dinner, the evening paper, and I''m in bed before
ten. Why, just the other day I was saying to my wife, ''George...''"

영화배우가 여러 해만에 어린 시절을 보냈던 고향으로 찾아왔다.

친구들은 할리우드 생활에 관해 들어온 갖가지 문란한 이야기들이 사실인지
궁금했다.

"엉터리없는 소리"라고 그는 대답했다.

"할리우드라고 해서 미국의 다른 도시들과 다를 것 없어. 그곳에서도 정상
적인 생활들을 하고 있다네. 나만해도 그래. 아침 일찍 일어나서 8시15분까
지는 스튜디오에 나간다네. 종일 열심히 일하고 6시까지는 귀가하고...
저녁먹고 석간신문을 읽고 나서 10시 전에 잠자리에 든다네. 아니 일전에는
아내를 보고 뭐랬는지 알어. ''이봐 조지...''"
