[해외유머] '두 시장'

Since Time magazine of the U. S. printed his telephone number in the
profile of Jerusalem mayor his phone hasn''t stopped ringing.

Beca-use of the time difference, most calls from abroad have come
in the middle of the night.

One night he was a wakened by a call from Australia.

"What can I do for you?" asked the mayor.

"Nothing," said the caller, who just wanted to see if he could get
through.

"My own mayor," he explained, "I can''t get."

미국의 타임잡지가 예루살렘시장의 인물소재를 하면서 전화번호를
기재했더니 전화벨이 쉴새없이 울려댔다.

그런데 시차때문에 해외에서 걸려오는 전화는 대개가 한밤중에 왔다.

어느날밤 그를 깨운 것은 호주에서 걸려온 전화였다.

"뭘 해드릴까요?"하고 용건을 물은즉 아무일도 아니란다.

통화가 되나 보려고 걸어봤다면서 "우리 시장하고는 통화가 안되거든요"
라는 설명이었다.
