The man was doing some yardwork when his extremely talkative next－door neighbor called him over to the fence for a chat.

When his wife saw the predicament her husband was in， she decided to save him from a lengthy conversation. Immediately she went out on the porch and told her husband that his mother was on the phone.

He excused himself， turned and took a step toward his house.

At that moment， the phone began to ring.


마당에서 일하고 있는 남자를 옆집 수다쟁이 남자가 담 너머로 불러놓고는 잡담을 시작하려 했다.

남편이 딱한 처지에 몰린 것을 창문으로 내다본 아내는 장황하게 이어질 그 수다로부터 남편을 풀어줘야겠다고 마음먹었다. 얼른 현관으로 나가 남편에게 어머님에게서 전화가 왔다고 소리쳤다.

남편은 미안하다고 말하고는 돌아서서 집 쪽으로 움직였다.

바로 그 순간 집에서 전화벨이 울리기 시작했다.
