－In bed I'm her high school teacher，captain of the football team，her boss….

－She makes lists.Things to buy.Things to do.People to call.If it's not on the list，it doesn't get done.Once，to be funny，I put 'sex' on the list.Mistake.Now it has to be on the list or it doesn't get done.

－She has an uncanny way of standing between me and the television screen.Bases loaded，two strikes，three balls. The crowd goes wild，the pitch flies，and all I can see is her butt.

－She will not shop at discount stores or sales.She thinks they're crowded and plebeian.She doesn't even look at the reduced rack，other than for gifts for my mother.

－잠자리에서 난 그녀의 여고시절 교사이고，축구팀의 주장이며，그녀의 직장 상사이고….

－그녀는 리스트를 작성한다. 구입해야 할 것들，해야 할 일들,연락해야 할 사람들의 리스트다. 리스트에 오르지 않은 일은 하지 않는다. 한 번은 내가 장난삼아 '섹스'를 리스트에 올렸다. 잘못이었다. 이제는 리스트에 올리지 않으면 그걸 바랄 수 없게 됐다.

－그녀는 TV 스크린을 막아서는 이상한 버릇이 있다. 만루에 투스트라이크 스리볼.관중들이 열광하는 가운데 투수가 공을 던졌는데 내가 볼 수 있는 건 그녀의 궁둥이뿐이다.

－그녀는 할인점이나 세일 상품은 사려 하지 않는다. 너무 혼잡하고 서민적이어서라고 한다. 가격인하 상품은 거들떠보지 않다가도 시어머니에게 줄 물건을 구입할 때나 거기에 눈길이 간다.
