Johnny was asked by his mother what he had learned in Sunday School．

"Well, our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt．

When he got to the Red Sea he had his engineers build a bridge and all the people walked across safely．

Then he used his walkie-talkie to radio headquarters for reinforcements． They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and saved the Israelites."

"Is that really what your teacher taught you？"

"Well, no, but if I told it the way the teacher did, you’d never believe it."


어머니는 조니에게 주일학교에서 뭘 배웠는지 물었다．

"있잖아, 성생님은 하나님이 이스라엘인들을 이집트로부터 구출할 임무를 줘서 모세를 적진 후방으로 보낸 이야기를 해줬어．

모세는 홍해에 이르자 기술자들더러 다리는 건설하게 해서 사람들이 모두 안전하게 걸어올 수 있게 했어. 그리고는 휴대용 무선전화기로 증원대를 보내달라고 했어．

그랬더니 폭격기가 와서 그 다리를 폭파해서 이스라엘 사람들을 구해준 거야."

"선생님이 정말 그렇게 가르치시더란 말이야？"하고 어머니가 물었다．

"아니. 근데 선생님이 했던 대로 전해주면 엄마는 절대로 믿어주지 않을 거란 말이야."
