Fred Lay， a retired businessman， and his wife Nancy made their annual trek to church for Easter services． As they were leaving the minister said， “Mr． Lay， I wish we’d see you here more than twice a year！“
Fred said， ”Yes， I know， but at least we keep then ten commandments．“
The minister said， ”Well， that‘s great you keep the Ten Commandments．”
And Fred replied， “Yes， Nancy keeps six of them and I keep the other four…”


은퇴한 기업인인 프레드와 그의 아내 낸시는 해마다 부활절이면 교회를 찾는데 이날도 부활절 예배를 위해 교회로 발걸음을 옮겼다．

예배를 마치고 교회를 나서는 두 사람을 보고 목사가 말했다．

“1년에 단 두 번이 아니라 좀 자주 뵐 기회가 있었으면 좋겠네요.”

“단 두 번 오는 건 사실이지만 우리는 십계명만큼은 지키고 있답니다”라고 프레드가 대답했다．

“십계명을 지키신다니 거 참 대견스럽군요.”

그러자 프레드가 대답했다．

“그렇습니다．낸시가 여섯 가지를 지키고 나머지 네 가지는 제가 지킨답니다．．．”
