The owner of a newspaper instructed his managing editor to hire his son, just out of college, as a reporter.

The young man''s first assignment was to cover a big society wedding.

Late in the day the managing editor came upon the new reporter deep in a mystery story.

"Where''s the wedding story? It''s almost press time," asked the editor.

"Oh, there''s no story. The whole thing blew up. The bride eloped last night with a playboy".

신문사 사주가 대학을 갓 나온 그의 아들을 기자로 쓰라고 편집국장에게 지시했다.

그에게 떨어진 첫 임무는 상류사회의 큰 결혼식을 취재하는 것이었다.

그날 늦게 편집국장의 눈에 띈 것은 추리소설을 탐독하고 있는 그 견습기자의 모습이었다.

"신문 찍을 시간 다 됐는데 결혼식 기사 어떻게 됐어?"하고 국장은 물었다.

"기사 없습니다. 일이 완전히 깨져 버렸어요. 신부가 간밤에 어떤 바람둥이하고 도망쳐 버렸거든요"
