A man went to the police station wishing to speak with the burglar who
had broken into his house the night before.

"You''ll get your chance in court," said the desk sergeant.

"As a matter of fact, there''s one thing I''ve got to find out from him,"
said the man.

"What is it?" the officer asked.

"Well," said the man. "I want to know how he got into the house without
waking my wife. I''ve been trying to do that for years!"

경찰서에 온 사람은 전날 밤 그의 집에 들어왔던 도둑을 만나보게 해달라고
했다.

"재판할 때 만나볼 수 있을텐데요"라고 당직 경찰관이 말했다.

"실은 그 사람한테서 알아내야 할 게 있어서요"라고 그 사람은 말했다.

"그게 뭔데요?"

"있잖아요, 어떻게 우리 마누라를 깨우지 않고 우리집에 들어올 수 있었는지
알고 싶단 말입니다. 난 여러 해 동안 해봐도 안 되던데"
