[해외유머] '할망구'

It was a cold winter night and the old couple living in countryside
could not help feeling depressed.

"The years are passing us by, Sarah," said the old man glumly.

"Yes," she agreed.

"And when I think of it, I get real sad," the husband said.

"Think of what?" his wife asked.

"Pretty soon one of us will be left."

"That''s all right," she said.

"When that happens I''m moving to a warmer place."

추운 겨울 밤이었다.

시골에 살고 있는 늙은 부부는 어쩔수 없는 울적함을 느꼈다.

"여보 세월은 자꾸자꾸 흘러가는구려"

영감은 침통하게 말했다.

"누가 아니래요"라며 할머니는 맞장구를 쳤다.

"그 생각만 하면 아주 슬퍼지눈군"

할아버지가 말했다.

"무슨 생각요?"

할머니가 물었다.

"멀지 않아 어느 한사람만 혼자 남게 될게 아니냐구"

"거 걱정할것 없어요. 그렇게 되면 난 따뜻한데로 이사갈거라구요"
