[해외유머] '명설교자'

Dr. Alexander White, a clergyman famous for his pulpit prayers, was
due to preach one Sunday when the weather was exceptionally bad.

"I can''t see what the preacher will find to be thankful to the Lord
for this morning," said one of the congregation on the way into the
church.

But the preacher apparently had no trouble coming up with the proper
prayer.

He began, "We thank thee, Lord, that it is not always like this."

설교단에서 기도를 잘하기로 이름난 성직자 알렉산더 화이트박사는 유달리
날씨가 궂은 어느 일요일 설교단에 서게 되었다.

신도 한사람이 교회로 들어서면서 "이 양반 오늘 아침엔 뭘 가지고 주님께
감사할건가"라고 했다.

그러나 화이트박사는 어렵지않게 그럴싸한 설교를 해냈다.

그는 이런 말로 설교를 시작했다.

"주여, 이런 날씨가 마냥 계속되는 일어 없도록 해주시니 감사합니다"
