Hyundai''s Sonata model passenger car assembled in Canada waslisted as candidate for the "Best Car Built in Canada"by the Automobile Journalist Association of Canada (AJAC),Hyundai sources boasted on Jan. 16. Selected by a vote of AJAC members from among 23 models of14 car makers in Canada, Hyundai''s Sonata car, produced bythe Bromont plant, is competing with Dodge''s Caravan and Toyota''sCorolla for the final choice, the sources explained. The "Best Car Built in Canada" will be announced at the Torontoauto show slated Feb. 15, the sources said. The Hyundai''s Bromont plant went into commercial operationlast July and plans to produce 50,000 cars this year, the sourcesadded.
