Once upon a time there lived three men: a doctor，a chemist and an engineer.For some reason all three offended the king and were sentenced to die on the same day.As he strapped the doctor to the guillotine，the executioner asked，"Blindfold or no blindfold？" "No blindfold." Down came the blade－－and stopped an inch above the doctor's neck.Well，the law stated that if an execution didn't succeed the first time the prisoner had to be released，so he was set free.Then the chemist was led up to the guillotine.Down came the blade－－and stopped an inch above his neck.So he was set free.Finally it was the engineer.But just before the executioner could cut the rope，the engineer yelled out，"Wait！ I see what the problem is！"

" 내려오던 단두 검은 의사의 목에 닿기 직전 1인치 위에서 멎어버렸다. 그런데 법률상 1차 시도에서 성공하지 못하면 죄수는 방면돼야 하는 것으로 돼 있었으므로 그는 풀려났다. 다음으로 화학자가 단두대에 올라갔다. 이번에도 단두 검은 그의 목에 미치기 전 1인치 위에서 멎어버렸다. 그래서 그는 풀려났다. 끈 기술자.그런데 형집행자가 로프를 자르기 직전에 그는 소리소리 지르는 것이 아닌가. "잠깐만요！ 문제가 어디 있는지 알아냈어요！"
