A couple of days after taking a final examination, I was disappointed to discover that I was one point short of an A. So I asked my teacher, who was also varsity football coach, f he could bump my grade up a notch.

"If you run the ball 99 yards and get tackled at one-yard line，" he replied, "Do you think the referee is going to give you a touchdown?"

그래서 대학 미식축구팀 코치이기도 한 선생을 찾아가 내 점수를 살짝 올려줄 수 없겠는가 물었다.

"자네가 공을 가지고 99야드 달려가서 1야드 라인에서 태클을 당했다면 레프리가 그걸 터치다운으로 인정해 줄 거라고 생각하나?"
