The young mother was shocked to learn that little Sammy had
told a falsehood.
Taking the boy on her knees, she explained the consequences
of lying:
"A tall, green man," she said, "with, red fiery eyes and two
sharp horns, grabs little boys who tell falsehoods and carries
them off at night."
"You tell a lie better than I can," replied the lad.

어린 아들이 거짓말을 한다는 사실을 알게 된 어머니는 큰 충격을
받았다.
꼬마녀석을 무릎위에 올려놓고 어머니는 거짓말을 하면 어떻게 되는
지를 설명했다.
"눈이 불같이 새빨갛고 날카로운 뿔 두개가 달린 새파란 키다리가 밤
중에 와서 거짓말을 하는 아이들을 잡아간단 말이야"
"엄만 나보다도 거짓말 잘 하네 뭐"라고 꼬마녀석은 한마디했다.
