[해외유머] '노인의 분풀이'

A grizzled old man was eating in a truck stop when three rough bikerswalked in. The first walked up to the old man, pushed his cigarette into the oldman''s pie and then took a seat at the counter. The second spat into the old man''s milk. The third turned over the old man''s plate, and then he took a seat atthe counter. Without a word of protest, the old man quietly left the diner. Shortly thereafter, one of the bikers said to the waitress, "Humph, notmuch of a man, was he?" The waitress replied, "Not much of a truck driver either. He just backed his truck over three motorcycles."----------------------------------------------------------------------- grizzled : 백발이 섞인 rough : 난폭한 diner : 간이식당 not much of : 대단한 ~이 아닌----------------------------------------------------------------------- 머리가 희끗희끗한 영감이 트럭정류장에서 식사를 하고 있는데 오토바이폭주족 셋이 들이닥쳤다. 한 녀석은 노인의 파이에 담배를 쑤셔넣고는 카운터에 가서 앉았다. 다음 녀석은 노인의 우유잔에 침을 뱉았다. 남은 녀석은 노인의 접시를 뒤집어엎고 그의 자리로 갔다. 노인은 한마디 불평도 하지 않고 조용히 나갔다. 잠시후 한 녀석이 여종업원을 보고 "흠, 사내랄 것도 없잖아"라고 했다. "트럭운전사랄 것도 없구요. 방금 트럭을 뒤로 빼면서 오토바이 셋을 결딴냈지 뭐요"라고 여자는 말했다. ( 한 국 경 제 신 문 1999년 9월 28일자 ).
