"Dear dad", read the young soldier''s first letter home, "I cannot tellyou where I am, but yesterday I shot a polar bear dead..." Several months later came another letter : "Dear dad, I still cannot tell you where I am, but yesterday I danced with a hula girl..." "아버지, 지금 어디있는지 말씀드릴 수 없지만 어제는 북극곰을 쏴죽였습니다..." 몇달이 지나고나서 다시 편지가 왔다. "아버지, 아직도 어디 있는지는 말씀드릴 수 없지만 어제는 훌라 아가씨와춤을 췄습니다..." 2주가 지나자 또 편지가 왔다. "아버지, 아직도 어디 있는지 말씀드릴 수 없지만 어제 의사가 하는 말이춤은 북극곰과 추고 쏴죽여야 하는 것은 훌라 아가씨였답니다" ( 한 국 경 제 신 문 1998년 10월 31일자 ).
