When the man was a lieutenant stationed at a naval shipyard in California, he met a girl and they fell in love. The man had a single red rose sent to her every day. This went on several weeks. Soon after their wedding, the man went to the same florist and requested an inexpensive bouquet of flowers. “Oh, lieutenant,” the florist replied, “you must have gotten married!”


캘리포니아주에 있는 한 조선소에 근무하는 해군 소위가 여자를 만나게 됐는데 두 사람은 곧 사랑에 빠졌다. 남자는 매일같이 여자에게 붉은 장미 한 송이를 보냈다. 그렇게 몇 주가 지났다. 그리고 결혼하게 됐는데 얼마 후 바로 그 꽃가게를 찾아 값싼 꽃 한 다발을 달라고 했다. 그러자 가게 주인이 말하는 것이었다. “소위 양반, 결혼하신 게로군요!”
