세포 기술 및 제조 전문기업 젠셀릭스(대표이사 강민지)는 지난 7일 서울 강남 힐튼가든인호텔에서 디케이메디컬그룹(대표 김형석), 일본의 고진바이오(회장 나카무라 타카히토)와 재생의학 및 세포치료 분야의 전략적 협력을 위한 3자 간 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약을 통해 양국은 ‘한·일 재생의학 얼라이언스(Korea-Japan Regenerative Medicine Alliance)’를 출범한다. 3사는 연구개발부터 GMP 기반 제조, 임상 검증, 해외 사업화로 이어지는 통합 협력체계를 마련하기로 했다.

3사는 향후 ▲임상 협력 ▲연구개발 ▲세포제조 및 기술이전 ▲ 교육·학술교류 ▲국제 사업개발을 중심으로 협력을 이어갈 방침이다. 모든 공동 프로젝트는 한·일 양국의 관련 법령 및 규제 승인 절차를 준수하여 추진한다.

젠셀릭스는 이번 얼라이언스에서 세포 기술 및 제조 분야의 핵심 역할을 맡는다. GMP 기반 세포 처리 및 제조, 품질관리(QC), 제조 표준작업절차(SOP)의 수립과 고도화, 공정 최적화 및 기술이전을 지원할 예정이다. 줄기세포 및 NK세포 등의 면역세포, 세포뱅킹 플랫폼의 연구개발과 제조 표준화도 함께 추진한다.

디케이메디컬그룹은 다양한 진료과목의 임상 인프라를 기반으로 재생의학 및 세포치료 분야의 프로토콜 개발과 검증을 담당한다. 디케이줄기세포연구소를 학술 거점으로 활용해 다기관 연구자 주도의 임상 연구와 의료진 교육, 국제 펠로우십 프로그램 등을 운영할 예정이다.

일본 재생의료 전문기업 고진바이오는 자국 내 재생의학 네트워크와 사업 인프라를 바탕으로 양국 간 기술 교류와 규제 대응, 일본 사업화 전략 수립 및 글로벌 확장 등을 지원한다.

GenCelix Signs Strategic Three-Way MOU with DKMG and Japan’s KOHJIN BIO

GenCelix, a company specializing in cell technology and manufacturing, announced that it signed a three-way Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with DKMG and Japan’s KOHJIN BIO on September 7 at Hilton Garden Inn Seoul Gangnam to establish strategic cooperation in the fields of regenerative medicine and cell therapy.

The agreement was signed by KANG MINJI, Founder & CEO of GenCelix; Kim Hyungsuk, President of DKMG(DK Medical Group); and NAKAMURA TAKAHITO, Founder & Chairman of KOHJIN BIO.

Through the agreement, the companies will officially launch the Korea-Japan Regenerative Medicine Alliance. The three parties plan to establish an integrated cooperation framework spanning research and development, GMP-based manufacturing, clinical validation, and global commercialization.

Going forward, the three companies will focus their collaboration on five key areas: clinical cooperation, research and development, cell manufacturing and technology transfer, education and academic exchange, and international business development. All joint projects will be carried out in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory approval procedures of both Korea and Japan.

GenCelix will play a key role in cell technology and manufacturing within the alliance. The company will support GMP-based cell processing and manufacturing, quality control (QC), the establishment and advancement of manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs), process optimization, and technology transfer. It will also pursue research and development and manufacturing standardization for stem cells, immune cells including NK cells, and cell banking platforms.

DKMG will be responsible for the development and validation of regenerative medicine and cell therapy protocols, leveraging its clinical infrastructure across a wide range of medical specialties. The group plans to utilize the DK Stem Cell Research Institute as an academic hub to conduct multicenter investigator-initiated clinical studies, provide training for medical professionals, and operate international fellowship programs.

KOHJIN BIO, a Japan-based company specializing in regenerative medicine, will leverage its regenerative medicine network and business infrastructure in Japan to support technology exchange between Korea and Japan, regulatory compliance, the development of commercialization strategies for the Japanese market, and global expansion.

KANG MINJI, Founder & CEO of GenCelix, said, “For regenerative medicine to be successfully applied in clinical practice, it requires not only research and development but also standardized technological capabilities that ensure cells can be manufactured with consistent quality.”
