A divinity school drama group presented a play during which one character stands on a trapdoor and announces，"I descend into hell！" A stagehand below would then pull a rope，the trapdoor would open，and the character would plunge through.The play was well received.

When the actor playing the part became ill，another actor who was quite overweight took his place.When the new actor announced，"I descend into hell！"，the stagehand pulled the rope and the actor began his plunge，but became helplessly stuck.No amount of tugging on the rope could make him descend.One student in the balcony yelled，"Hallelujah！Hell is full！"

신학교 연극팀의 드라마에선 배우 하나가 뚜껑문 위에 서서 "난 지옥으로 떨어진다！"고 소리치는 대목이 있었다. 그 소리에 맞춰 무대담당이 아래서 줄을 당기면 뚜껑문이 열리면서 배우가 아래로 떨어지는 것이었다. 이 연극은 반응이 좋았다.

그런데 이 역을 맡았던 학생이 탈이 나자 비대한 다른 학생이 대역으로 나왔다. 새로 등장한 학생이 "난 지옥으로 떨어진다！"고 소리쳤을 때 무대담당이 줄을 잡아당겼지만 배우는 뚜껑문에 끼여 꼼짝 못하게 됐다. 아무리 세게 당겨봐도 그는 떨어지지 않았다. 그때 이층 좌석에 있던 학생이 소리쳤다. "할렐루야！지옥은 꽉찼어！"
