A carload of hunters， looking for a place to hunt， pulled into a farmer's yard. The driver went up to the farmhouse to ask permission to hunt.

The old farmer said， "Sure you can hunt， but would you do me a favor？ That old mule standing over there is 20 years old and sick with cancer， but I don't have the heart to kill her. Would you do it for me？" The hunter said， "Sure，" and headed for the car. Walking back， he decided to pull a trick on his hunting buddies.

Asked if the farmer had okayed， he said， "No， we can't hunt here， but I'm going to teach him a lesson." With that， he stuck his gun out of the window and blasted the mule. As he exclaimed， "That will teach him！" a second shot rang out from the passenger side. One of his buddies shouted， "I got the cow！"


차 한대에 탑승해 사냥터를 찾아 나선 수렵꾼들이 한 농가 마당에 들어갔다. 차를 운전하던 사람은 농가에 가서 사냥을 허락해 달라고 했다.

"좋아요，사냥을 해요. 한데 한 가지 청이 있어요. 저기 서있는 당나귀는 스무 살인데 암에 걸렸어요. 차마 내 손으로 죽일 수 없어요. 당신이 대신 해주면 안 되겠어요？" "물론 해드리죠"라고 대답하고 차로 돌아오던 그는 동료들에게 장난을 치기로 마음먹었다.

농부가 허락하느냐는 질문에 그는 "아니. 하지만 저 노인을 혼내줄 거야"라고 했다. 그리고는 창문으로 총을 내밀어 그 당나귀에게 명중시켰다. 그러면서 "이제 정신 차리겠지！"라고 소리치는 순간 옆좌석에서 또 한 방이 터져나갔다. "암소는 내가 명중시켰어！" 그의 동료가 소리쳤다.
