A young woman,after hearing a speech given by a ranking government official,was puzzled.

She asked her husband what was the difference between direct and indirect taxation. "The difference," he said,"is the same as the difference between asking me for money and going through my pockets while I am asleep."

직접세와 간접세가 어떻게 다른 거냐고. "어떻게 다른고 하니,당신이 나를 보고 돈을 달라고 하는 것하고 내가 잠든 사이에 내 호주머니를 뒤지는 것과도 같은 거요"
