[해외유머] '무디 목사'

Dwight L.Moody, the famous evangelist, stopped to visit with a fellow clergyman.

The friend told Moody he would love to have him address his congregation. but that it would porbably be embarrassing since the congregation was in the habit of walking out before a sermon was finished-no matter who the preacher was.

Moody said he would delighted to take his chances.

On Sunday morning Moody mounted the pulpit and began by pointing out that the first half of his sermon would be addressed to the finners and the last half to the saints in the congregation.

All stayed to the end.

유명한 전도사 무디가 동료 목사를 방문했다.

그 목사는 주일예배 때 무디가 설교해 주면 좋겠지만 누가 설교를 하건 신도들은 미처 설교가 끝나기도 전에 자리에서 일어나곤 하니 부탁하기가 민망하다고 했다.

무디는 어디 한번 시험삼아 해 보자고 했다.

주일 아침 설교단에 선 무디는 설교 앞부분은 죄인들을 위한 것이고 뒷부분은 자비로운 신도들을 위한 것이라는 말로 이야기를 시작했다.

신도들은 모두가 끝까지 자리를 지켰다.
