Rossini, the eighteenth-century actor, had dined thinly, for his host''s table afforded only a snip of this and a snack of that.

As coffee wass being served, the host said, "I hope you will soon do us the honor of dining here again."

"Certainly," said the hungry Rossini.

18세기의 배우 로시니가 어떤 집에 초대되었는데 그 집 식탁에는 이것 저것 조금씩 밖에 나오지 않는 통에 식사를 했는데도 배가 허전하기만 했다.

커피를 내놓으면서 집주인은 "곧 우리 집에서 다시 식사해 주시기를 바랍니다"라고 했다.

"그럽시다. 당장 시작합히다"라고 배가 고팠던 로시니는 말했다.
