The principal dropped into the new third-grade teacher''s room to see
how she was doing.

"That little boy in the first row belongs in selongs in second grade,"
she said.

"But he insists on remaining here. Indeed, he''s so smart I hate to
send him back."

"He cannot be that smark" said the principal.

"Why don''t you ask him something?"

The teacher called the boy forward and inquired : A cow has four of and
your mother has tow of what?"

"Legs," the boy said.

"Better promote him to the fourth grade," the principal whispered to
the teacher.

"I missed the question myself."

교장은 새로 온 3학년 선생이 어떻게 하고 있나 보려고 그 방에 갔다.

"맨 앞줄 꼬마녀석은 2학년생인데도 기어이 여기 있겠다고 하는데 실은
어찌나 똑똑한지 보내고 싶지가 않습니다"고 선생은 말했다.

"뭐 그렇게나 똑똑하려고. 어디 질문 좀 해보지 그래요"

선생은 그 아이를 불러다가 질문을 했다.

"어머님에게는 둘 뿐이지만 암소에게는 넷씩이 나 있는 것은 뭐죠"

"다리요"라고 녀석은 대답했다.

"숫제 4학년으로 보내지 그래요. 그 문제는 나도 못 맞혔는걸요"라고
귀엣말을 했다.
