[해외유머] '조크의 세계'

Some reporters were at the Honolulu Press Club bar when the phone
rang.

The bartender announced it was long distance form New York City,
and the caller would speak to anyone.

One man took the phone, listened, then laughed uproariously and
passed the phone to the next fellow.

So it went all the way down the bar.

The bartender asked what was going on.

"Well," it was explained, "this guy in New York heard a new joke and
everybody he''s tried to tell it to all day had already heard it.

So he picked out the farthest spot he could think of, hoping the
story hadn''t reached there yet."

It hadn''t.

기자 몇사람이 앉아있는 호놀룰루의 기자클럽에서 전화벨이 울렸다.

뉴욕에서 걸려온 장거리전화인데 아무나 바꿔달라고 바텐더는 말했다.

전화를 받은 사람은 폭소를 터뜨리며 전화를 옆사람에게 건네줬다.

이런식으로 바에 앉았던 사람들 모두가 전화를 받았다.

바텐더는 무슨 일이냐고 물었다.

"뉴욕사람인데 갓들은 조크를 하루종일 이사람 저사람에게 들렸줬으나
다들 이미 알고있더라더군. 그래서 아직 못들어본 사람이 없나 알아보려고
가장 먼데로 여겨지는 곳에 전화를 걸어봤다는 거야" 과연 거기까지는
아직 퍼지지 않은 조크였다.
