[해외유머] '상혼'

Several merchants were having lunch at a restaurant when a peddler
came in and began to pester them.

One of the group became annoyed and called to the peddler:

"Have you any decent suspenders?"

"A bargain at $5," said the peddler.

The merchant handed the man $5 and took the suspenders, whereupon
the peddler walked away with a troubled look.

"I wanted to make him miserable for the rest of the day," said
the merchant.

"Since I accepted his first price, he''ll be condemning himself for
the rest of the day because he didn''t ask $10 instead of $5."

수명의 상인들이 식당에서 점심을 먹고 있는데 행상인이 들어와서는
귀찮게 굴기 시작했다.

짜증이 난 그중 한 사람이 행상인에게 물었다.

"바지멜빵 좋은 것 업소?"

"싸게 드립죠. 5달러만 내세요"

5달러를 받고 멜빵을 건네준 행상인은 곤혹스러운 표정을 지으면서
물러갔다.

"저녀석 진종일 기분 잡치게 해주고 싶었던 거야"라고 그 상인은
설명했다.

"달라는대로 다 줬으니 저녀석 10달러를 부르지 않았던 사실을 가지고
종일토록 자신을 원망할 걸세"
