The Ministry of Environment has decided to have 39 major apartment
complexes in Seoul, including Hyundai Apartment Complex in Kangnam-gu,
to utilize LNG for their central heating systems from Sept. 1.
The office will shortly announce the measure which is designed
to reduce pollution in the capital city.
In a move to help reduce the financial burden of apartment
inhabitants, the office will secure 15 billion won from the
Petroleum Business Fund for loans to the apartment inhabitants at
the rate of 150,000 won per household on average. The loan will
be repayable over a period of three years at annual interest of
5 percent.
